Undeterred by rain and fueled by immense faith, a massive group of Shyam devotees (Shyam Bhakts) set off on their annual pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Khatu Shyam Ji in Rajasthan. Following the beloved tradition observed every year, the enthusiasm among the pilgrims reached new heights as they embarked on this sacred journey, marking a major highlight on the local devotional calendar.

Departure and Railway Hospitality

The pilgrimage officially commenced on July 30, when hundreds of devotees gathered at the Champa Railway Station amidst joyful chants of “Haare Ka Sahara, Baba Shyam Hamara” and “Jai Shri Shyam.” The journey kicked off aboard the Chhattisgarh Express, with the train departing as family members, friends, and local well-wishers gathered on the platform to bid the pilgrims a warm, emotional farewell.

As the train made its scheduled stop at the Uslapur Station, grand arrangements were made to welcome the travelers. Volunteers and fellow devotees organized a thoughtful hospitality drive right on the platform and inside the train compartments. Light refreshments (Swalpahar) and packaged drinking water bottles were systematically distributed across the coaches, ensuring that every pilgrim remained comfortable, hydrated, and refreshed for the long journey ahead. The seamless organization inside the train coaches set an upbeat and comfortable tone for the days to follow.

Five Years of Faith: A Legacy Founded by Yogesh Agarwal ‘Babu’

This year marks a monumental milestone for the pilgrimage, celebrating its fifth glorious anniversary. What has now transformed into a grand annual tradition began with a modest yet determined vision.

The journey was originally conceptualized and initiated five years ago by Yogesh Agarwal (lovingly known as ‘Babu’), a prominent resident of Champa whose dedication brought the idea to life. In its premier year, the yatra started with a small, close-knit group of 101 passengers. Over the years, driven by word-of-mouth, deep spiritual devotion, and flawless organizational efforts, the pilgrimage has experienced exponential growth. Today, it stands as one of the most anticipated collective religious journeys from the Janjgir-Champa region, drawing devotees from all walks of life.

The Sacred Itinerary: Key Temple Destinations

While the principal destination of this pilgrimage remains the revered shrine of Lord Khatu Shyam Ji in Sikar, Rajasthan, the itinerary is thoughtfully designed as a comprehensive spiritual circuit. Over the course of the journey, the devotees will visit several other historically and religiously significant temples, including:

Salasar Balaji Dham: Located in the Churu district of Rajasthan, this famous temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is a vital stop on the pilgrimage route where devotees seek blessings for strength, protection, and prosperity.

Rani Sati Temple, Jhunjhunu: An iconic and architecturally grand shrine dedicated to Rani Sati, revered widely across the region by millions of followers.
Ked Sati Temple: Another deeply respected site along the spiritual path, known for its serene atmosphere and deep historical roots in local faith.
Mansa Devi Temple: Perched atop a hill, this temple dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi—the fulfiller of wishes—serves as another spiritual highlight where the group will offer special prayers.

A Divine Atmosphere on the Move

The atmosphere throughout the journey is nothing short of electric. The railway coaches have essentially turned into moving places of worship, filled with the beats of dholaks, ringing bells, and collective singing of Shyam Bhajans. Young and old alike share stories, perform aarti during train stops, and pass along snacks, creating a deep sense of community and brotherhood among the travelers.

For the people of Janjgir-Champa, this annual yatra is more than just a trip—it is a cherished festival of faith, community bonding, and devotion that continues to grow stronger with every passing year. As the Chhattisgarh Express speeds toward Rajasthan, the hearts of the pilgrims remain firmly anchored in their unwavering love for Baba Shyam.

हर वर्ष की भांति इस वर्ष भी जांजगीर-चांपा और आसपास के क्षेत्रों से खाटू श्याम बाबा के दर्शन के लिए श्याम भक्तों का एक विशाल जत्था पूरी आस्था और उत्साह के साथ राजस्थान स्थित खाटू धाम के लिए रवाना हो चुका है। जुलाई के महीने में आयोजित होने वाली इस पवित्र यात्रा को लेकर श्रद्धालुओं में एक अलग ही उमंग देखने को मिल रही है, जो क्षेत्र के धार्मिक कैलेंडर का एक प्रमुख आकर्षण बन चुकी है।

रवानगी और रेलवे स्टेशनों पर सेवा कार्य

इस वार्षिक यात्रा का औपचारिक शुभारंभ 30 जुलाई को हुआ, जब सैकड़ों की संख्या में श्याम भक्त चांपा रेलवे स्टेशन पर एकत्रित हुए। पूरा स्टेशन परिसर “हाारे का सहारा, बाबा श्याम हमारा” और “जय श्री श्याम” के गगनभेदी जयकारों से गुंजायमान हो उठा। यह यात्रा चांपा स्टेशन से छत्तीसगढ़ एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन से रवाना हुई। यात्रियों को विदा करने के लिए उनके परिवारजन, मित्र और स्थानीय नागरिक भारी संख्या में प्लेटफॉर्म पर उपस्थित रहे, जिससे माहौल पूरी तरह भक्तिमय और भावुक हो गया।

जैसे ही ट्रेन अपने निर्धारित समय पर उसलापुर स्टेशन पहुंची, वहां श्याम भक्तों के स्वागत के लिए विशेष प्रबंध किए गए थे। स्थानीय सेवाभावी कार्यकर्ताओं और साथी भक्तों द्वारा ट्रेन के डिब्बों में जाकर सभी यात्रियों के लिए स्वल्पाहार (अल्पाहार) और पीने के पानी की बोतलों का सुचारू रूप से वितरण किया गया। रेल कोचों के भीतर इस तरह की निस्वार्थ सेवा से यात्रियों का उत्साह दोगुना हो गया और लंबी यात्रा के लिए उन्हें काफी सुविधा मिली।

आस्था के 5 वर्ष: योगेश अग्रवाल ‘बाबू’ की दूरदर्शी पहल

यह वर्ष इस यात्रा के लिए बेहद खास है, क्योंकि यह यात्रा अपने पांचवें गौरवशाली वर्ष में प्रवेश कर चुकी है। आज जो यात्रा एक विशाल भक्ति आंदोलन का रूप ले चुकी है, उसकी शुरुआत बेहद सादगी और दृढ़ संकल्प के साथ हुई थी।

इस यात्रा की शुरुआत आज से ठीक पांच वर्ष पूर्व चांपा के समाजसेवी योगेश अग्रवाल (जिन्हें क्षेत्र में प्यार से ‘बाबू’ कहा जाता है) द्वारा की गई थी। प्रथम वर्ष में यह यात्रा मात्र 101 यात्रियों के साथ प्रारंभ हुई थी। लेकिन बाबा श्याम की कृपा और आयोजकों की उत्कृष्ट व्यवस्था के कारण हर साल यात्रियों की संख्या में निरंतर बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की गई। आज यह यात्रा चांपा और आसपास के जिलों की सबसे बड़ी और बहुप्रतीक्षित सामूहिक धार्मिक यात्राओं में से एक बन चुकी है।

यात्रा का मुख्य पड़ाव: प्रमुख मंदिर और धार्मिक स्थल

यद्यपि इस यात्रा का मुख्य उद्देश्य राजस्थान के सीकर जिले में स्थित भगवान खाटू श्याम जी के दर्शन करना है, लेकिन आयोजकों ने इसे एक संपूर्ण आध्यात्मिक परिपथ (स्पिरिचुअल सर्किट) के रूप में तैयार किया है। इस यात्रा के दौरान श्याम भक्त खाटू धाम के अलावा राजस्थान के कई अन्य ऐतिहासिक और प्रसिद्ध धार्मिक स्थलों के दर्शन करेंगे, जिनमें शामिल हैं:

सालासर बालाजी धाम: राजस्थान के चूरू जिले में स्थित यह सिद्ध पीठ भगवान हनुमान जी को समर्पित है। यहां भक्त शक्ति, भक्ति और रक्षा का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के लिए रुकते हैं।
रानी सती मंदिर, झुंझुनूं: स्थापत्य कला का अद्भुत नमूना और करोड़ों श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था का केंद्र, जहां भक्त माथा टेककर आशीर्वाद लेंगे।

केड सती मंदिर: क्षेत्रीय लोक आस्था का एक प्रमुख और शांत धार्मिक स्थल, जो भक्तों को अध्यात्म की गहराई से जोड़ता है।
मनसा माता मंदिर: पहाड़ी पर स्थित यह प्रसिद्ध मंदिर माता मनसा देवी को समर्पित है, जिन्हें मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण करने वाली देवी माना जाता है।

ट्रेन के डिब्बों में गुंजायमान भक्ति रस

यात्रा के दौरान ट्रेन का माहौल किसी चलते-फिरते मंदिर जैसा प्रतीत हो रहा है। ट्रेन के कोचों में ढोलक की थाप, मंजीरों की झनकार और श्याम भजनों की स्वर लहरियां गूंज रही हैं। बच्चे, युवा और बुजुर्ग सभी एक साथ बैठकर भजन गा रहे हैं और आरती में भाग ले रहे हैं। यात्रियों के बीच आपसी सहयोग और भाईचारे का यह दृश्य देखते ही बनता है।

जांजगीर-चांपा जिले के निवासियों के लिए यह यात्रा केवल एक भौगोलिक सफर नहीं, बल्कि आस्था, सामाजिक एकता और अटूट विश्वास का एक वार्षिक उत्सव है जो हर गुजरते साल के साथ और अधिक भव्य होता जा रहा है।
